7 Cute & Inexpensive Girls Halloween Costume Ideas

Little girls and Halloween are basically made for each other. Halloween is the time of year when dressing up in great costumes is expected and little girls love to play dress-up and pretend to be all sorts of different characters. The great thing is with all of the awesome girls Halloween costumes available, not only can girls dress up as their favorite character, but you don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a great costume. As a matter of fact, some of the best costumes are basically free.

Here are some great looking girls costume ideas that are either free or inexpensive:

1.    One great costume idea is for an Ancient Greece costume. These are very easy to do as the toga only takes a bed sheet to make and a piece of rope to hold it together. A pair of sandals is all it takes to finish off a good basic Greek costume.

2.    If you’ve already got cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, going as a cowgirl or even a country singer is a cinch. Grab your brother’s toy guns and belt or a guitar and you’re ready to go.

3.    Many little princesses already have a tiara and some may even have a fairy wand too so coming up with a cute princess costume for Halloween is a breeze. To spiff it up, you can get pink gauze material at your local piece goods store for a couple of dollars that will take a girls princess costume over the top.

4.    With a black t-shirt and jeans or a black leotard and black tights, all it takes is a set of cat ears and a tail to turn a little girl into a great looking black cat.

5.    Spending a few dollars on a witch’s hat is a great way to turn a black dress into a full blown witch’s costume.

6.    A kerchief, some black yarn and some electrical tape with a blousy shirt and pants makes for a great girl’s Halloween costume pirate.

7.    If your daughter really likes a particular costume such as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, then investing the money in a costume that’s a little large for her now may be money well spent. While it may be large this year, next year it’ll fit fine and the year after it may be a tad snug but still wearable. This gives you three years of Halloweens out of one costume.

Girls Halloween costumes can be anything from super-heroines to princesses, ballerinas and pop stars so finding or making a great costume can be a bit of a challenge. However, with a little out of the box creative thinking, even Lady Gaga can make an appearance. The best thing to do when putting together a costume is to have fun. That’s the point to Halloween anyway.

Advertise Your Party With A Custom Full Color Halloween Banner

Halloween is a great time of year to have a party, regardless of what the point of the party is. Whether you’re having a fund raiser for your school or a church Halloween get together for the kids, using Halloween banners to advertise your party really gets the word out. Not only are they big, but decorating them with colorful Halloween decorations definitely catches the eye so anyone going by will see what’s going on.

Having at least one large banner will enable passers-by to see the name of the event, the date for it and you even have space to advertise some of the events that’ll be taking place at the party. By putting events like “games”, “apple bobbing”, “contests” and “prizes” on the Halloween banner lets people know what will be happening during the party and also give them incentives to be there as well. For instance, if you’re having a costume contest, you’ll want to advertise that so people who are interested can get dressed up in their favorite costume and enter the competition.

Banners for Halloween are great to advertise church events too. Having an event at your church or community center is a great way to give kids a safe, warm environment to have fun instead of going out on the streets and trick or treating. These are especially inviting when the weather is cold and rainy and keeps the kids from being disappointed they didn’t get to do anything for Halloween. By advertising your function with banners, you can let parents and kids alike know that they’ll have the opportunity to enjoy Halloween without having to worry about what the weather is going to be.

While using signs and flyers to promote your fund raiser or event is important, especially when you’re trying to attract as many people as possible, using banners for Halloween party promotion makes it easy for guests to find where the party is. Hanging banners on the side of the building where it is makes it a snap to find. With great looking vinyl Halloween banners, it’s easy to roll it up and save it for next year as well. All you have to do is unroll it and change the date (colored duct tape works great) and you’re good to go. Not only do you have great looking banners but you’ll be saving money since you don’t have to re-buy them every time you need them.
